PHOTOFAIRS New York

It's a joy to provide a dedicated space to experience the dynamism of image-making and celebrate photography, which is at the heart of our visual culture." says Helen Toomer, Director, PHOTOFAIRS New York.

More than one-third of the fair is dedicated to solo presentations, providing the chance to discover emerging artists and in-depth showcases of internationally renowned photographers. PHOTOFAIRS also features a range of special projects, large-scale installations, and publishing projects; a talks program; and an annual acquisition prize for exhibiting artists! Many of this year’s artists examine photography and its intersections across media, from drawing and painting to fiber techniques and of course, collage. Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore curated presentations, that explore visual media and its relationship with emerging technologies.

“Photography tends to be digested in an art-fair context as one note, and we want it to be a symphony,” says Helen Toomer, the director of Photofairs New York and the former head of the Pulse, Collective Design and IFPDA Fine Art Print fairs (among other credits).
