Fashion Model and Creative Producer Anna Sophie Mungenast
Anna-Sophie
Mungenast
Born in Tirol. Discovered in Vienna. Formed in Tokyo. Built in New York. Now taking over the world, one impossible location at a time.
She got to a Cuban waterfall on horseback with a whole fashion collection, a steamer, a generator, all the camera equipment and two adorable assistants laughing tears. She made it happen. Anna-Sophie Mungenast always does.
My partner in crime for many years, and someone with an absolutely extraordinary eye.
Anna-Sophie Mungenast was born in Tirol, Austria, and discovered while studying Slavic Studies at the University of Vienna. What followed was a decade-plus of model-led education that no classroom could have provided: two mind-expanding years in Tokyo and Shanghai, a move to New York, an enrolment at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, and nearly a decade working every side of the fashion industry. Observant by nature, she found herself constantly translating between clients and photographers, art directors and stylists, make-up artists and brands.
After 12 years, bursting with creativity and knowledge acquired at photoshoots around the world, she founded Leopard Studios. She is now best known as a creative director, strategist and producer, while still being booked as an agency-signed fashion model. The two things feed each other. That is the whole idea.
Vogue US, Harpers Bazaar US, Tatler UK, Elle España, Glamour, InStyle. Major fashion and skincare brands, advertising campaigns, TV commercials. And now, a studio that makes extraordinary production accessible for brands of every size, in the most remarkable locations on earth.
"We think it's time for brands to start booking smart, creative and badass women for their campaigns rather than just pretty faces."

"Free-spirited creative freelancers
with a twist of German style organisation,
who think outside the box."
High-quality production made accessible for brands of every size. Websites, look-books, social media, video. In extraordinary locations around the world. An abandoned sports facility outside Havana. A fisherman's village in Sicily. A white beach in the Maldives. An East London studio. And the talent? You can book them as models too.

They debated whether to publish the behind-the-scenes. Everything turned out so amazing that they did. When they fall in love with a location, they don't take no for an answer. Every six weeks, a new trip. Europe regularly. Cuba often. The harder it is to get to, the more they love it.
Her inspiration comes from different cultures, art, architecture and nature. The practice at Leopard Studios is about finding the parallels between a brand and a place, a trade, a culture, and creating something that could only exist at that intersection. It is a methodology that comes from twelve years of looking, translating, absorbing. From Vienna to Tokyo to New York to a waterfall in Cuba on horseback.
She goes to Africa next. She insists on meeting a leopard. For obvious reasons.
We have been a part of this change, using social media to expose the works of some of the most inspiring artists in the world and putting you, the reader, in touch with them directly. There is no need for only a few people in a flawed system to dictate what artists can and cannot be exposed to. Today it is more important than ever to preserve the artist's perspective. Because artists are. ✦
