A COLLECTOR'S GUIDE TO BLOCKCHAIN PHOTOGRAPHY

Visions of the Future by Saatchi Art and Web 3 platform Fellowship will be showcasing some of the best talent within the photography NFT space changing how we buy, sell and experience art.

the world has undergone massive cultural change on a dramatic scale. Social media has transformed the way which art and culture is disseminated, who we connect with, and how we interact.  Technological innovation—from the birth of Satoshi Nakomoto’s Bitcoin, to the creation of the first tokenized digital assets—continues to propel us into the future of art collection at light speed and Artists have always been at the forefront of cultural and technological shifts. their work tends to be an indication of change and the future. Visions of the Future asks artists to create photographic works exploring notions of the future — near or far, utopian or dystopian. With Visions, Saatchi art is able to turn firmly towards the fine art world, as the exhibition expects to onboard traditional collectors into the NFT space.

Photography, being such a technology-focused medium allows the platform to introduce the element of “phygitals,” so that collectors can also redeem a physical limited-edition print of their NFT. Earlier this month Fellowship, connected both seminal and breakthrough photographers with the possibilities of NFTs promising photography collectors a new path to discover, trade and collect works. They regularly feature exhibitions and auctions of museum worthy photographers on a rotating basis, and in the coming weeks will showcase works by Guy Bourdin, László Moholy-Nagy, Mitch Epstein, Joel Meyerowitz, and Laurie Simmons. “We believe the digital art market is just getting started,” say the founders. “Fellowship is creating new opportunities and best practices for photographers at every stage in their career to create, exhibit and reach new audiences via the virtual realm. We’re pushing photography forward by offering an extension of the artist’s presentation model beyond prints.”

  • Visions of the Future will debut to the public on August 24. Token holders of the online gallery’s genesis NFT drop, The Other Avatars, will be able to preview the exhibition first -beginning August 22,2022.

We’re committed to providing a platform where visionary creative voices can redefine the art world, whether working traditionally or with blockchain technology, it was integral to the project that the selected photographers represent artists from around the world who are making profound contributions to the photographic space.

Founder, Editor & Creative · Antakly Projects

My career has never moved in a straight line, and that has always been the point. It began in fashion with a formative chapter at Vogue Italia, followed by an unlikely detour into finance. From there, film, PR, events and production. A role as Director at Wilhelmina Models in Dubai sharpened an eye already trained on people worth watching. Then came the years that shaped the platform: writing, editing, producing photo shoots, a short-lived photobooth business, lots of yoga and eventually Madrid, where the light is just right. Currently I am in the States in a new and exciting field, digital marketing for higher ed, but this remains my passion project. What started as a hobby back in 2003 evolved into Antakly Projects, leading to some exciting conversations, projects, and lots of joy. Throughout all of it, my best friend, one small white Shih-poo called Coco, has been present, unimpressed, and very fluffy.
