MAGA & Friends

It has been a while since we last interviewed one of our favourite music producers and dear friends, MAGA, on all the incredible adventures, collaborations and festivals. We are so proud to share the news of this compilation, where he brings 47 artists together to support disadvantaged children in Mexico.

How has the non-profit developed?

Reflecting, focusing, and giving back.

“Thank you Leila for having me once again on your platform. As you know, I have been travelling the world non-stop, but being in lockdown I have had a lot of time to reflect and focus on some things that really mean a lot to me. I have been really busy putting together this very special compilation featuring friends and incredible artists on this project that means so much, in order to support ones that are facing very unfortunate situations.”

“Mexico is currently in phase 3 of its emergency plan against COVID, coinciding with the worst period of the epidemic. The social distress has challenged the Mexican economy, shrinking significantly over the past months, hitting the most vulnerable citizens living in extreme levels of poverty.”

About Fundacion Renacimiento

Comprehensive development for children in social abandonment since 1992.

“The institution I have been involved with for the past two years, Fundacion Renacimiento, provides comprehensive and interdisciplinary development to children and teenagers in social abandonment since 1992, with the goal to facilitate their reintegration into society and provide dignified living conditions.”

“It has been really beautiful and inspiring for me these two years, to be involved with their work. Every time I go visit, I see clearly how the funding is being allocated on improving the structure of the home, and the overall daily needs required to make an impact for these kids.”

Getting it ready

A solid group of artists. On short notice. For the kids.

“It was then I decided to find a way to make a fundraiser on short notice, so I got a solid group of artists to join to create this compilation, out now via Bandcamp. The initiative is 100% non-profit, and all the revenue will be transferred from Bandcamp directly to Fundacion Renacimiento’s account, going to the reintegration programmes of the 60 children supported by the foundation.”
