your greatest inspirations or influences

Chris Marker’s ruminative narratives, the Cambodian rock’n’roll scene in the 60’s, Deeyah Khan’s wholehearted empathy, Sun Ra’s afrocosmic world, Angkor Wat’s energy, Sister Corita’s socially engaged work, Mad Max: Fury Road’s twist of codes, graphic designer Eady (played by Amy Brenneman)’s flirting scene at the bar in Heat, Davy Chou’s depiction of Cambodia today, the characters’ relation to food in Tampopo and Eat Drink Man Woman, Dieter Roth’s approach to bookmaking as a form of expression and research, the 18-inch Stonehenge from This Is Spinal Tap, Kenya Hara’s study on white, Romain Gary’s alter ego Émile Ajar, New Zealand and the EU’s rejected flag proposals, Georgia O’Keeffe’s house in New Mexico, her handwriting, her recipes, and last but not least, Ebay.

Work you are most proud of?

In terms of process, definitely the book I designed back in 2016 JOMOHOMO with Åbäke about the artist Ingrid Hora, published by Dent-de-Leone. It was a refreshing and significant experience on both personal and professional level – that moment in time defines my way of approaching design, of working, and of communicating today.

On a personal level, my contribution to IDEA Magazine №386 back in 2019 The Advantages of Being a Woman Designer was extremely liberating:

How has this year changed your creativity?

It’s still pretty much the same, only with a few adjustments: métro-boulot-dodo – minus the métro.

California Dreaming, a film by Sreylin Meas, produced by Anti-Archive.

Reposts of 20 YEARS, a 28-page fold-out in the issue №38 of 032c, on the occasion of the magazine’s 20th year anniversary.
