I had the opportunity to listen to Reunion ahead of release — and it really is a stunning piece of work. Very nostalgic and pure, exploring sounds that are at once ethereal and dynamic, celestial but also grounded on the dancefloor. In his debut album, Fejká moves the listener through his own personal journey, through his own experiences, which gain colour in the videos he shoots and produces himself.

Christian Löffler, HVOB and Kiasmos. The deeper influences of my musical mindset lie in my everyday life — watching movies, reading books, travelling.

Christian Löffler discovered Fejká's first song "Moonlight" and invited him to join Ki Records — the label home that launched his career. The connection between artist and mentor runs through the debut album and the EU tour that follows its release.

Tell us about your experience in Finland and the North.
I've been feeling attracted to the north for a very long time — curious how it feels to live there for an extended period. It felt very relaxed. You don't have as much contact with people as you do in middle-European cities, which lets you focus on other aspects of life and allows you to live in a more self-reflective way.
Tell us about the creative process behind the video Svanur.
I mixed video clips I shot in Finland and Norway with clips from friends who had shot an amazing timelapse film about Iceland. My goal was to trigger the same fascination about North European nature that I experienced myself.
What do you expect audiences will feel?
I don't have any expectations. I produce my songs the way I would like to listen to them. Once they're finished, it's interesting to see how differently people react — so I just let the magic happen and watch the audience.
Favourite websites, publications or handles?
In my teenage years following channels like Majestic Casual and MrSuicidesheep and browsing through Soundcloud. Nowadays I like to discover visual artists via Instagram and new music via Spotify's algorithms — but I don't search as actively as I used to, spending most of my time on my own projects.
Anything else you'd like to share?
I think people should live a more self-expressive life and stop caring about what others might think. Doing art in any kind of form — or enjoying creativity in general — is something very natural and we should be proud of it, not afraid. The focus should always be to feel happy about creating something out of nothing, and not about feeling hurt by someone's opinion.
