Hi.

The name, "Ninu Nina" stems from the alien language spoken by Robin Williams in "Mork & Mindy" ( a popular 1970's comedy show).

INTERVIEW TOLGA FIDAN

INTERVIEW TOLGA FIDAN

Saturday June 29th, Tolga Fidan and Hold Youth in Beirut.

Back in 2010 I interviewed Tolga Fidan who was playing in NYC for the first time at a ReSolute event and now we have him back with some updates with this interview brought to you by Ronald of Beirut In the Mix.

Greatest inspirations or influences?

Growing up in Turkey has definitely opened up my mind to a more multi cultural environment. But friends and good wine are also key players.

Most memorable set so far?

Maybe when I played at Cocoon Amnesia years ago..it was my 20th live I think...great experience but I don't remember being that scared.

Favorite record shop?

In Berlin, I would say spacehall for all the different types of music and hardwax for the selection. although we have our own record shop now called Bass Cadet records store... so i'm pretty much there most of the time.

Highlight of 2013 so far?

The uprising in Turkey. Sorry I don't want to sound political or anything but its the most important piece of historyI have yet witnessed.

What your most looking forward to about Beirut?

Everything.. I was there around the same time last year and I can easily say it was one of the best times I ever had.  I felt a bond with the city straight away so obviously I’m more than excited to return!

Upcoming releases?

A few secret projects are on the way

Anything else?

Hold Youth and I will do our best to get you down. Be in for a treat and see you soon
