The name, "Ninu Nina" stems from the alien language spoken by Robin Williams in "Mork & Mindy" ( a popular 1970's comedy show).

Last month, Simon Berger-Perrin launched his website Dailysingle after realizing that social networks and online communities were now overcrowded, time consuming and that all profiles, interesting or not, had the same level of exposure.

Simon, who was born in Paris but has been living in New York the past 4 years, has been  working for online communities for over a decade. All social communities claim to have millions of people there. I wanted to create a new space where people would take time to really discover just one person, his or her life and projects. DS is an online magazine which features a new talented artist, freelancer, entrepreneur everyday.

You can read my DS interview here.

Your greatest inspirations or influences?

Well obviously all social networks like Facebook and MySpace. I also want Dailysingle magazine to be a chance for all of us that can not be featured on Vanity Fair, Fortune or Rolling Stones magazines :)

Challenges of starting DS?

It's always a challenge to start a new venture alone. Raising Angels money was actually easier than expected. The challenge was to get a product better than what I had imagined. I am really happy with the design of the site. It is the first time you have such nice big photos like that.

Other websites/blogs you love?

  • Ninunina of course
  • I mostly read RSS feeds from tech blogs and websites through google reader.
  • And you can not avoid Facebook...

How does NY inlfuence you?

Dailysingle is all about promoting interesting people and NYC is full of them!

It's also a city where everybody create sand start things.. I had to start my own thing too! The only thing I dont like about  NY  are some of the  venues and people for which money rules...

Most interesting interview youve read so far on DS.....

All of them of course. Its great to have different people that tell different stories. I really liked the story of Franck who launched SPiN getting obsessed with Ping Pong. You can view all interviews by joining the Dailysingle page at www.facebook.com/Dailysingle

Anything else youd like to share?

Thanks for this kind interview. If you guys are in NYC, you can hear me spin during our "Electo Loft" parties. Very good deep house, tech house music. Search for Electro Loft on Facebook and join the group to hear about the next party!

For a short time only, the application fee will be waived so this is your chance to talk about  your experiences and what you do, so sign up now! Answer the online interview here :www.dailysingle.com/interview.
