The name, "Ninu Nina" stems from the alien language spoken by Robin Williams in "Mork & Mindy" ( a popular 1970's comedy show).

WMC 2008

Miami Music Conference 2008 We asked a variety of attendees about their favorite parties, dj's, up and coming artists etc and here's what they had to say:

Best party this year at WMC 08? Crosstown Rebels Afterhours at Studio A Saturday 6 am to 12

Scion Sound Ceremony, poolside party at the Raleigh. All my favorite DJs and homies mingling about, Institubes DJs killin' it... A-Trak... Calvin Harris live... lots of pretty girls getting wild in bikinis didn't hurt. Best Live Set? Pier Bucci at the Crosstown Rebels party

Set Swedish House Mafia

Best dj and why? Marco Carolla closing for the minus party at Nocturnal on Friday 10am to 12. It was pure madness, even the security stopped working and joined the dance floor

Magda ( Leila's favorite)

Adam Bayer, Cedric Gervais, Swedish House Mafia,

Annie MAC-She hit all the hard basses and kept the party going all night.. I felt like I was at Fabric in London It's gonna be a tie between two trouble & bass DJs -- Drop The Lime, and Star Eyes. Individually and at separate events, they both KILLED IT so I have to give it up to them. Drop The Lime was mind blowing wherever I saw him, starting at Wednesday's "Downtown Riot II" at Studio A.

Best new dj? The newest was probably Seth Troxler @ the Crosstown rebels party.

Drop the Lime and Boyz Noize

Star Eyes- This girl absolutely rocked a party at the Raleigh penthouse. She got my attention with a bass-heavy, jackin' remix of the Inner City classic "Big Fun" and never looked back...

Although the following aren't new, it was my first time experiencing them live: Martinez Brothers, Brian Tappert, Martin Solveig, Ian Pooley

Best venue? Pawn Shop Karu & Y for OM Party Mokai, Space , Studio A, & Wet Willie's... the only party that never lets up during WMC.

What made this year better or worse than previous years? Better: More friends who had not yet seen how amazing the parties are Martin Solveig at Opium Garden, Johnny Fiasco at 5 AM at Karu and although I was so tired but when he came on, I danced my ass off. Andy Caldwell when he closed remixing The Police was incredible! Marques Wyatt at OM was so amazing

Worse:The main clubs are not about the real talent, just about the money and they headlined dj's who haven't had a hit since 2000 yuk!

Mixed: Better in the sense that Andrew and Steve from my DJ group Nouveau Riche were able to make it down, so I could share the experience with my close friends. It was a more laid-back experience overall. But that was also the downside. Last year, there was so much hype over Justice and Ed Banger Records that if you weren't into the main Ultra events at WMC, you knew exactly where to go -- Studio A on Friday night for the Ed Banger tour with their whole roster. Now, Justice is so huge that they were practically headlining the Ultra mainstage on Friday night. In the wake of that, there was no "clear winner" for what to do outside of Ultra this year. The parties were still bangin' for sure on Friday and Saturday, but there wasn't the same near-religious fervor that built up for last year's events.

Artists to look out for? Mathew Jonson, Heartthrob, Marco Carolla, Damian Lazarus, Clive Henry, Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler, Pier Bucci,Guy Gerber, Davide Squillace, Johnny Fiasco , Master Kev rocked me at Blue the way he works the mixer is insane, DJ Heather, Brian Tappert, and Blaqstarr who has done collaborations with M.I. A and just got signed with MAD decent label.
